The scan data is used to fabricate your custom aligners digitally and to generate your treatment plan animation, a simulation of the full sequence of tooth movements from your current position to your projected outcome. Each set of aligners moves your teeth by a fraction of a millimetre. You wear each set for approximately one to two weeks before progressing to the next in the series. Small tooth-coloured bumps of shade matched composite (Attachments) are bonded to specific teeth where needed to assist with more demanding movements. You attend review appointments at Pennington Dental every six to eight weeks throughout treatment.

Who is suitable for Invisalign?

Invisalign is effective for a broad range of orthodontic concerns, including crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. Mild to moderate cases typically respond very well. More complex movements, particularly certain rotations and vertical adjustments, may require additional refinement aligners or, in some situations, may be better suited to fixed appliances.
