Cookie policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This cookie policy explains how the Pennington Dental website (www.penningtondental.co.uk) uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It should be read with our patient privacy notice, which explains how we use personal information.

1. Who we are

This website is run by Pennington Dental Care Ltd (Company No. 07079845), trading as Pennington Dental, 37 High Street, Kenilworth, CV8 1LY. If you have any questions about this policy, email kenilworth@penningtondental.co.uk or call 01926 863236.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage and tracking scripts, work in a similar way. In this policy we call them all "cookies". Some are set by us (first-party cookies) and some by other companies whose services we use (third-party cookies).

3. Your choices

When you first visit our website, a banner asks whether you agree to us using cookies. You can choose "Accept all", "Reject all" or "Manage choices" to pick which types you allow. Until you make a choice, and if you reject them, we only use strictly necessary cookies.

You can change your mind at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw your consent, we stop using those cookies and delete the ones we set ourselves. Cookies set by other companies on their own websites can be deleted in your browser settings.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website, such as our forms, may not work.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the website to work and to keep it and its forms secure. They do not need your consent.

• pd_consent (Pennington Dental): remembers your cookie choices. Kept for 6 months, after which we will ask you again.
• _cfuvid (Cloudflare, on behalf of our website host Webflow): helps keep the website secure and running properly. Deleted when you close your browser.
• Google reCAPTCHA (Google): checks that our forms are being filled in by a person and not a computer program, to protect against spam and abuse.
• __cf_bm (Cloudflare, on behalf of ActiveCampaign): set when the forms on our dentist referrals page load, to protect them from automated abuse. Kept for up to 30 minutes.

5. Analytics cookies

We only use these if you agree. They help us understand how people use our website so that we can improve it.

• Google Analytics (Google): _ga, _ga_RV4DW7XFS4 and _ga_4R28RF9ZYT. These count visits and show which pages are used and how visitors arrived. Kept for up to 13 months.
• Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): _clck (up to 1 year), _clsk (1 day) and _cltk (session storage) on our website, and CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR, SM and SRM_B on Microsoft's clarity.ms and bing.com domains. Clarity records how visitors use our pages, for example clicks, scrolling and mouse movements, as session recordings and heatmaps. Some of these can last up to about 13 months.

6. Advertising cookies

We only use these if you agree. They help us measure whether our online adverts work.

• Google Ads (Google): _gcl_au (3 months) and _gcl_ls (local storage) on our website, and IDE on Google's doubleclick.net domain (up to 13 months). These measure whether our adverts lead to bookings and enquiries, and may be used to show our adverts to people who have visited our website.
• Google Ads call tracking (Google): stores a Google forwarding phone number in local storage, so that our website can show a different number to people who arrive from one of our adverts and we can tell when an advert leads to a phone call.
• came_from_duplicate (Pennington Dental): records whether you arrived on our website from one of our adverts. Deleted when you close your browser.

Google Tag Manager (Google) is a tool we use to load the analytics and advertising services above. We only load it after you agree to analytics or advertising cookies.

7. Chat, reviews and videos

Some parts of our website show content or services from other companies. We only load them if you agree to "Chat, reviews and videos" cookies. These companies may set their own cookies, or collect your IP address and information about your device, when their content loads. Their use of your information is covered by their own privacy and cookie policies.

• EnquiryBot chat window (EnquiryBox): stores botOpen, botGtagEvent and botAdEvents in local storage which the chat window uses to remember whether it is open and to measure chat enquiries.
• EnquiryBox web forms (EnquiryBox): enquiry forms on some pages.
• Reviewability (Reviewability): shows a pop-up with our patient reviews.
• Elfsight (Elfsight): shows our Google reviews on some pages.
• YouTube (Google): plays videos on some pages.
• Google Maps (Google): shows maps of our practices.
• Matterport (Matterport): shows virtual tours of our practices.

Our website also loads fonts and code from Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts and other content delivery networks. These services receive your IP address so that they can send the files to your browser, but they are not used to track you on our website.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
