Composite bonding is a very popular treatment because it offers dramatic results in just one appointment.
During the appointment, your dentist will apply composite resin to the tooth, or teeth, and then shape and polish it to create the desired appearance. The material will be shade matched to your teeth so that the result looks seamless.
We use composite bonding for the following concerns:
Composite bonding should last around five years with good maintenance before it needs replacing.
On the day of your appointment, you will be made to feel comfortable and relaxed ready for your treatment.
We will begin by thoroughly cleaning the teeth that will be treated, and then we will apply a gel that roughens the surface to enable better adhesion. We will then use tooth-coloured bonding resin in a shade that perfectly matches your natural teeth. This will be sculpted and polished to create the desired shape.
Composite bonding takes place in just one appointment, giving you a smile makeover in just one day.
Composite bonding is suitable for many patients who have aesthetic concerns about their teeth.
Composite bonding can work well as a treatment on its own, but we often use it as part of a more comprehensive treatment plan. For example, sometimes we will recommend having teeth whitening treatment first in order to brighten the shade of the teeth, which we will then match the composite bonding to. It is also a popular treatment to have following teeth straightening treatment, too.
