A Look Back Over Children’s Dental Health Month

A Look Back Over Children’s Dental Health Month

As National Children’s Dental Health month draws to a close, we have been delighted with the opportunities we have had this month to educate children and parents about the importance of a good dental routine.

The Pennington Dental Childrens Day proved as popular as ever and we are looking forward to the next one on 8th March. We still have a few spaces available, so if you have a child who is beginning to show a fear of visiting the dentist, or you want to introduce your child to the dentist in a fun way, then please book in (link to contact form). Our resident face-painter will be on hand, plus lots of fun activities.
A parent at our last event told us, “It’s really amazing that you provide this for the children. This has been such a fun experience for them and they have just asked me when they can come again!”

Also this month, Dr Fuz was invited to talk to the Year 2 children at Crackley Hall school in Kenilworth. The children had been learning about health matters in science and were an enthusiastic and vocal audience with plenty of questions and insights into how they look after their teeth. Using graphics and models Dr Fuz explained to the children how their teeth develop, the importance of brushing well twice a day and avoiding too many fizzy drinks and sweets – even the grown-ups learned a thing or two! He also took time to drop into the school’s Stay ‘n’ Play toddler group to give advice and chat to mums and carers about their babies and toddlers’ toothcare.

Dr Fuz commented “It was wonderful to meet such a lovely group of children who are keen to look after their teeth. I was asked some amazing questions and in return I passed on some useful dental health tips”

We specialise in making children (and adults) feel at ease at the dentist. Our priority is making sure that any fears are put to rest and that the experience is made as enjoyable as possible. Thus paving the way to on-going regular dental check-ups and healthy teeth and gums.

And just a reminder of our 4 Quick Tips to maintain your child’s healthy smile:
1. Twice daily Brushing with a dry tooth brush and dry tooth paste
2. Use a fluoride toothpaste
3. Don’t rinse after you brush just spit out
4. Regular Dental Check-Ups

We have space for new patients, both private and NHS patients. To find out more about or to book your children on to our next Kid’s Day, please email us or call us on 01926 863236.
